Writing the report kept me curious and open to new or different views on workplace culture. Exchanging thoughts and insights with the team, no matter how different or far off our views may have been, heightened my awareness of possibilities. Our shared mission to help organizations become great workplaces guided what and how I wrote the stories behind the data. Discovering real-life stories of employees and leaders on how they built their culture together was my favorite part. Behind the data are stories and opportunities to do good, to celebrate our humanity.

This report is an assemblage of our lean team’s talent. I consider it to be a physical manifestation of the grit and dedication we put into our daily work. It’s also a symbol of the role we play in helping, shaping and recognizing great workplaces in the Philippines. Whether it’s the intensive research that gives the report its essence or the extra mile put into presenting the data beautifully, I see a passionate product driven by a mission—and that’s what makes it a worthwhile effort!

For me, the Insights Report is a testament to great organizations trying to make our world a better place—one company, one employee at a time. Whenever we work with our clients, we ask them, “What does success look like for you?” You’d think getting Certified™ or being on the Best Workplaces list would be the popular choice. But honestly, the most common answer is, “We want to build a better workplace for our people.” At the end of the day, that’s what we’re all trying to do here. We want to make great workplaces FOR ALL™. This report is a collection of conversations, best practices and insights shared among people passionate about giving back. We run these numbers because we want to make an impact. We want to inspire change for the better. Our team worked very hard to produce this report and we hope that after reading it, you’ll also see why it’s so special.

When I hear the 2022 Philippines Best Workplaces™ Insights Report, the first thing that comes into mind is the sleepless nights, series of meetings, content and design planning and how hard the team worked to compile and put into words the best practices of the companies that made it to the Philippines Best Workplaces. The camaraderie that took place to provide comprehensive insights reports that readers will find beneficial is what made the Insights Report special to me. What makes it even more special is that on the very last page of the insights report, you will see the photos and names of the people who made the very first printed copy of the Insights Report happen. 🙂

I remember when Zoe & I crammed a few pages for the report. Even though we were doing overtime, I had fun collaborating & realized that I missed working on creative layouts together. Seeing the physical copy, it didn’t look crammed at all! It looked great and I felt proud of the team when clients went to us to say they love it and they want their own pages.

With pride, I always refer to the Philippines Best Workplaces™ Insights Report 2022 as Great Place to Work’s first print issue. It’s apt because my overall experience was full of firsts, too. It was my first time working closely with the PH team, contributing to a company magazine and encountering such solid workplace insights—all the while experiencing my very first month in the company, too. It was truly a new, exciting emprise and for that, this publication will always have a special place in my heart.

I always enjoy working on projects that showcase the creativity, compassion, and humanity of people. It's always good to know that there continue to be companies who do not lose sight of the value of their employees, even as they keep their eye on the bottom line. (When I was a producer in The Probe Team back in the day, the Special Projects department of Probe Productions had this side project called The Good News that showcased the best practices of different entrepreneurs from around the country. We had fun working on that series. It was a good respite of sorts from the heavy news we normally worked on. Insights reminds me of the stories we featured then.) It was also great working with the GPTW team — the professionalism, the openness to suggestions, and the ease of communicating get high points from me!
